What is Kybella?

 

Kybella is an injectable treatment used to reduce moderate to severe fat under the chin, often called a ‘double chin’. The main ingredient in Kybella is Deoxycholic Acid, which is a naturally occurring molecule in our bodies that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat.

 

How does Kybella work?

 

When Kybella is injected, it zeros in on the fat cells under the chin, eliminating them for good. Once those cells are gone they will no longer accumulate in that area.

Is there any downtime after Kybella Injections?

 

After a Kybella treatment, you can definitely go about your day and do most of your regular activities, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

 

Swelling and Bruising: It’s common to experience some swelling, redness, and possible bruising in the treated area. This may last a few days to a week.

Physical activity: Light activities are fine, but it’s recommended to avoid intense physical activities for a day or two.  Increased blood flow can create more swelling in the treated area.
